Mesotherapy is a technology developed by the French doctor Michel Pistor and a complementary medical approach to skin tightening and regeneration as well as for the treatment of hair loss and cellulite, which has been used successfully for over 50 years. Here a special drug mixture is inserted into the skin using very small needles (microneedling) or injected into the middle (meso) layer of the skin. Microcirculation is improved and thus the nutrient supply in the dermis, which in addition leads to regeneration and firming of the skin. Mesotherapy can also be used for wrinkle therapy and as anti-aging treatment. Cosmetic products often do not penetrate deep enough into the skin. With the help of mesotherapy, however, the substances can have their full effect directly at the target site in the deep tissue. Due to application of a local anesthetic (Emla®) the treatment is usually not painful. Afterwards local redness and individual small bruises can occur, but subside within a short period of time.
